The Druid Grove of Ashridge in the Chilterns

Area: Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The Ashridge Grove is situated in the wonderful Chilterns. We are blessed with woodlands of ancient beech on chalk soil and the start (or finish!) of the Ridgeway Track. Ivinghoe Beacon, which is one of our celebratory places, has the Michael and Mary lines passing to either side of it. Home to the site of a Bronze Age settlement it looks down on to the Vale of Aylesbury with parts of Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire in full view.

We are now (June 2004) two years old. We seek to be open and hospitable to any who seek to share our native spirituality. Any who seek to honour the Lord and the Lady, who sense and feel the sacredness of the land and who honour the Ancestors, who we recognise as not just the Celts, but Angles, Saxons, Vikings, even Victorians; such are welcome to share with us.

The Grove Leader is a Druid trained by the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. In this Grove there is no distinction between any religious paths. The importance is whether the path leads to a compassionate life full of respect for the earth and the life manifested on her. We meet for all the Festivals and in addition every two weeks when we explore together various aspects of magical and Druidic practice and celebrate a small rite at 'our' oak tree.
