Bards of the Lost Forest

Bards of the Lost Forest

Meeting in the West Midlands, in what was once the Forest of Arden, we celebrate the Equinoxes with open Gorsedd rituals. In between these we meet for rituals, workshops and other activites. The group is open to anyone who wishes to join, and is an informal gathering of likeminded spirits, working creatively in celebration, study and practical action. Sometimes it's very useful to just be able to try something, to have an experience of shared ritual, to explore a possibility without tying yourself down. While our gatherings are Druid led and Druid inspired, we welcome people of any path. Our events are open and require no ongoing commitment from anyone. We are child friendly and welcome family groups. You don't need any ritual experience, or any particular knowledge base to come along. If you want to learn, we will try and support you in that. If you want to share your inspirations and skills, you will be most welcome.

The Lost Forest is the Forest of Arden which once stretched across the West Midlands, but now survives only as fragments. We honour this forest, and through tree planting, aim to contribute to its life and spirit. We seek to explore our relationships with woodland, looking for ethical, sustainable ways of moving forwards, both spiritually and practically. We are green and spiritual, but we won't tell you what to think or how to feel. What we create are opportunities and experiences. Our Bardic aspect means a dedication to developing bard skills through workshops, our rituals involve music and other outlets. We want to empower people to find their bardic voices, and to go forth as bards, inspiring others to look at the world anew. For those who wish to become dedicated Bards of the Lost Forest, and sing the songs of ancient trees, there will be many possibilities as well. As we seek balance between culture and wildwood, human needs and tree needs, past and future, there will be much to explore.
