Sacrifice

Meditation in Firelight

Sacrifice is a powerful word and one that can conjure up ideas of bloody and brutal practices, of self-annihilating asceticism, as well as images of exquisite giving and devotion. What is sacrifice in modern Druidic practice? What was it for our ancestors? What do we sacrifice now most powerfully and why? What of blood sacrifice, human sacrifice, personal sacrifice? What is the difference between a sacrifice and an offering?

This section of the website focuses on the issue, including that of human sacrifice in Druidic history. If you have an article to contribute, whether 2000 words or just 150, please email us.
