The Marine Conservation Bill Needs Help!
On the 15th March the UK government issued a white paper setting out their intentions for the Marine Bill, it includes some of the demands made by ecologists and national Wildlife Trusts, but the bill has suffered delays and there is a long way to go before the UK has strong and effective laws to protect our sacred ocean and the creatures who live within it, by creating marine reserves. You can help by clicking http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/ and clicking on the SOS - Save our Seas link to join the campaign. There you have the choice: help by writing letters, attending events or participating in marine events. You could even win a holiday in the UK to see magnificent basking sharks!
The article by George Monbiot entitled ‘Feeding Frenzy' on http://www.monbiot.com/ is a beautifully written, well researched and passionate reminder of why this marine bill and the protected marine reserves it hopes to create are so important. Please read the article and join the campaign to help protect the sacred waters that surround our islands
