Ethical Consumer Magazine 'Best Buy' Label

The Ethical Consumer Magazine has just started licensing a logo which can be attached to products which it endorses as 'best buy' in its buyer's guides. Ethical Consumer Magazine is a British publication dedicated to investigating the ethics behind every day products. In each edition it has an in depth look at a product, as diverse as shampoo or gas suppliers, and assesses each brand on its ethics using criteria such as environmental reporting, climate change, animal testing, worker's rights and sustainability (to name but a few), awards each brand an 'ethiscore' and names one 'best buy'. One of the problems with this method is that ethics are a slippery subject and one person's ethics are different from another's, but on the whole I find these scores useful and welcome the labelling of 'best buy' products.
