Northern Plains

Winter in the Northern Plains

Welcome to the Northern Plains Region of the Druid Network

This area encompasses the lands nestled between the Mighty Mississippi in the east to the Rocky Mountain States in the west. We are the bread basket to the world. We are Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska!

The name, Northern Plains brings to mind vast flatlands overflowing with natures bounty. Corn is king here, but so are soybeans, and even wheat! Pork, beef, and dairy products abound, but that’s only a part of the story, a very small part. The Northern Plains are a study in contrasts. Yes we have plains as flat as a table top, but we also have rolling hills and cliffs worthy of rappelling. We have slow moving rivers and the raging torrent of North America’s greatest river! We are the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” and “The Black Hills”.

The Northern Plains Region of North America has a rich a Native American Heritage that is at least as rich and varied as the landscape! These peoples were, and are, as “in touch” with their Earth Mother and Father Sky as the Celts and their Druids were, and are, with our Groves of Trees and wells of sacred waters.

There is much we Druids might learn from our Native Sons and Daughters. I invite them and you to contribute, compare, and hopefully learn from the groups here. I also invite you to pose questions of me. With luck I may help you or, with luck, I may have to research for the best answer, then we both win!

Blessings to You and Yours!
