The Bards of Caer Pugetia of the

Bards of Turtle Island (Seattle area)

1/24/08
Dear Friends of the Gorsedd of Bards of Caer Pugetia, of the British Druid Order,

Greetings from the Gorsedd to all of you. This year the Gorsedd is eleven years
old.
This year also we have some new challenges to meet. We have operated without much structure for the last ten years, and this has been good for the most part. There are some down sides of course. For the last few years we have had no newsletter. Those lucky enough to attend know about what is happening, but the rest of us are left to assume or forget.
We hope to remedy this with a new publication of the sound in March of 2008. Our new Editor will be a long standing member of the Gorsedd.

Another challenge the Gorsedd faces is that the Seattle Parks Department. The Parks have affirmed our first date for imbolc of Feb. 10.
The other dates have been requested and the department
has assured me they will decide on the others soon.

For the last few years we have not been able to properly promote the Gorsedd due to the waiting period for the Parks Department lottery which determines who gets the requested place when two competing organizations request the same date, place and time. Last year the dates were not affirmed till March.

I guess it comes down to this, if you want the Gorsedd to continue we need your support. Come to the Gorsedds, make offerings in the Eisteddfods, and give money and support to the bank account.
Be the Awen!

Brightest Blessings Be,
Purse Warden of the Bards of Caer Pugetia, of the British Druid Order.

When you enter a grove peopled with ancient trees, higher than
the ordinary, and shutting out the sky with their thickly inter-twined
branches, do not the stately shadows of the wood, the stillness of
the place then strike you with the presence of a deity?
