Self Description
Ergyng Grove is alive and well, and celebrating the seasons at an ancient site in south Hereford. If you would like to join us please contact Grymalkyn for dates and times. We are a shamanic grove in the Celtic tradition, working with the powers and stories of this land. Rituals are participatory and spontaneous, coming out of the people who are there and the land itself. The meetings usually go on to a social gathering after the ritual. Ergyng is the smallest of the ancient kingdoms of Britain, in the Welsh Marches, near Hereford and its name means Land of the Hedgehog. It is the birthplace of Dyfrig, a “fatherless child” like Merlin, who is said to have crowned Arthur. Dyfrig also built a magic/philosophy school near the Wye where he found a white sow suckling her piglings, a Ceridwen totem. It is also associated with Mynydd Myrddin, Gawain and Igraine (called Eign hereabouts) who held land here.email : grymalkyn [at] peagreenboat [dot] demon [dot] co [dot] uk
