Self Description

An Coirceog (The Hive) is an internet forum for the exploration of Druidic religion, Celtic faith and Western European Paganism. This group explores the dynamics of native spirituality within our lives, and through discussion, kin and companionship supports an evolving and positive hearth of personal development. Coirceog recognizes that the spiritual path of Druidry encompasses many varied perspectives with differing values and beliefs, and in this light encourages an open attitude towards the exploration, analysis and discussion of personal faith and practice. Coirceog encourages the adoption of natural philosophy in combination with experiential wisdom and knowledge as a foundation for spiritual and intellectual development.

The group was originally established in 2003 as An Curragh or ‘The Coracle' with similar purpose; Celtic spirituality as a soul journey of exploration inspired at that time by the ancient ‘immramma.' Coirceog is in symbolic terms the finally destination of that journey, a distillation of visions and a time for reflection and building. In this respect it is reflective of the natural entity of the bee-hive and the Irish meditation and oratory huts as found on the islands of Skellig Michael.

There are no membership requirements and all interested individuals are encouraged to join. The main purpose of Coirceog is to maintain contact between Druids internationally, promote peace, understanding, reason and enquiry, and a deeper sense of spirituality and purpose.
