The Anglesey Druid Order was formed in 1999 evolving from the older group, Cylch Awenydd. Our primary focus is the Celtic Cultural Continnum.
We assume the focus of 'Celtic' for reasons of language, the Order believes that a culture is primarily identified by language, in our case the "Brythonic" P Celtic strains of langauges. It is from this written material and lore and legend that we take our inspiration and develop our teaching systems.
Inspired by the past and the richness of Druidic history on the Isle of Anglesey, once chief seat of the British Druids, the Order's aim is to empower the people to inspire the world.
The Anglesey Druid Order is a Initiatory Tradition and is not an open Order.
Membership to the Order is dependant on the completion of the Order's Training programme. This programme is designed to embrace and utilise the wisdom and teachings of our ancestors, ensuring their survival. The Order believes that Druidry is a cultural tradition steeped in the mysteries of Britain, and we strive to teach the mysteries of this land in a manner appropriate to the 21st century, whilst honouring our ancestors and the past. On completion of the training programme, participants become Priests of the Order. Our hope is that these Priests return to their tribes inspired; and continue to teach the systems that we have developed to honour our British ancestors.
Membership requirements: The only requirement needed is a commitment to the year long, face to face training programme.
The Order's training programme takes place on the Isle of Anglesey.
The Order is focused on the oral traditions, for this reason we have minimal web presence, no website, no forums.
The Order is affiliated to the Druid Network.
The Orders head is Author Kristoffer Hughes.
