It took me perhaps twenty minutes to read this ebook, but in many ways that’s missing the point. Raven Blackmoor offers a series of questions for seekers. It’s aimed at someone fairly new to witchcraft, who is obliged to find their own way along the path. The course can be taken over a year, or five, and will be as involved, indepth and demanding as the reader chooses to make it. It strikes me as being ideal for a bookish teenager, more drawn to the library than to superficial glamour. The topics offered for study seem a good selection to me – and likely to open up new areas of learning for the seeker as they go. There’s enough structure here to help an independent witch build up their own practises, and there’s no dogma – because there are no answers offered. It’s not about finding ‘right’ answers, evidently, but about finding your own answers both intellectually and creatively.
To work with this book, a person needs to be self motivated and dedicated, and just in need of some pointers. For such a person, I think it could be very useful indeed.
