Australian Bushfires
As someone who used to live in Australia when I was younger (and who still has family and friends living there now) and because of my connection through being the Affiliated Groups and Groves Co-ordinator, I would just like to express my concern and heartfelt sympathy to everyone in Australia, especially those coping with floods or devastated by the horrific bushfires. During recent events those affected have never been far from my thoughts and I'm sure many more of TDN members feel the same way. Despite the recent lack of coverage by the British media, fires in Victoria are still burning. They are threatening not only people's homes and livelihood, but also their safety and that of the animals and vegetation they share the land with. Whilst Australia has always been a country accustomed to bushfires, the fires Victoria have been experiencing since earlier this month have been the worst for many decades.
