This book is centred around Goddess Spirituality, and reverence for the earth upon which we live. It is written (as so many pagan books are nowadays) around the eight festivals of the year.
A lot of research has been done for this book, and yet I seriously question some of the things that have been stated – especially regarding any mention of Heathen/Norse traditions. I’m not entirely sure that the author has verified or picked the sources carefully enough. Yet, it is still a decent book on Goddess religion in general – it is only some specifics that may niggle the reader.
Combined with the written resources are wonderful recounts of folk traditions associated with each festival, along with pictures and beautiful artwork. Included in each chapter is also a ritual, celebrated by women, some of which are exeptionally poignant and reverberate with deep meaning and wonderful potential. This books instills the reader with a deep respect for Mother Earth, and encourages the reader to do more with a newly awakened consciousness.
