Review
Following the success of his last book Pharmakon, Julian now gives us a series of essays, some the transcription of talks given at conferences and camps, some articles submitted to magazines, and some gentle narratives about key moments in his life and experience. With the wonderfully eclectic vision of a chaos magician, he speaks with insight that is both poignantly subjective and well researched.
I'd most recommend this book to someone beginning to explore the wonders of chaos, magickal practices and the use of drugs as entheogens. The experienced practitioner may find it limited, needless to say, as is the nature of many widely published books, but still there is the easy, informal and confidence in his style of writing that offers the kind of value we all seek, the value of sitting around a fire and sharing stories. Now and then someone tells a tale that wakes you to think more deeply, now and then a story will offer the affirmation of familiar experience, and both are present within this short book.
