Books
suitable for pagan young adults are much in demand, and I frequently get asked
for recomendations. Runemarks is ideal reading for young pagan folk, and adults
will enjoy it too. Beginning 500 years after Ragnarok, in a middle earth that
is sort of a parallel one to ours, it follows a young girl on some
remarkable adventures. Harris has a system of rune-based magic, that, although
being fantasy, is clearly underpinned by research and is delightful to read.
This is
without a doubt one of the best fictional depictons of the Norse gods I have
ever encountered. It's also a charming, well paced story with sympathetic
characters, a strong and twisty plot, and if you know your Norse panethon, some
very good jokes.
