About Heritage Action

Heritage Action is a rallying point for anyone who feels that society is deaf to the threats to heritage places, especially the most threatened of all, our most ancient sites.

We want to help individual voices to be heard loud and clear by the public, the media and the authorities.

We believe that this generation holds its heritage in trust for future generations and we should never break this trust. From this comes our single purpose — to build a powerful voice for action on all threatened heritage places.

We aim to promote an appreciation of the value of these places, highlight threats to them, and encourage the public to become involved in responsible but vigorous action to preserve them.

Each individual threat needs publicity and, if necessary, pressure on site owners, commercial interests, local authorities, and heritage bodies.

Silverspace: Salsify
Silverspace began jamming at the very beginning of 2000... hence it's not quite blatant hype when they call themselves the hippy-trippy jam band for the 21st century! Fusing together elements of trance to space-rock to dub-funk and beyond, the Silverspace sound is a psychedelic melting-pot of free-spirited improvisation blended into a unique set of tunes around which their live set and recordings are based. From the forthcoming EP ‘Politicide’.

Show of Hands: Crooked Man (Live Version)
Show of Hands are England’s most successful acoustic roots duo. Singer songwriter Steve Knightley and dazzling multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer have a huge following which has seen them twice sell out the Albert Hall, headline at major festivals and win the title Best Live Act at the 2004 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Knightley's ‘Crooked Man’ is a clever, percussive and haunting song which moves from innocent nursery rhyme to chilling global politics. This is a previously unreleased live version.
