The Midsummer Druid

Stand clear!
Let the sunbeam in,
Stand firm and smile,
And beam and bounce
Upon the stone so old.

You have seen me here before
You have seen me litchened green lime,
Skylark heart song bleeds on caw of Crow,
Black winged one nest's within,
We visit in our skin,
That itches in our cloaks and robes.

And through a ribboned coloured band,
A spray of jewelled diamonds rained
..... and rained ....

Stand clear!
And clear you shone,
How dear you shine,
You lit a special face,
She smiled as child
It was wonderful !

And here we stand,
Making sense we think,
Of every blade of grass,
Of every icy drop of glass,
Of stubbed cigarettes in mud,
Of how the stones see us,
Of how we bend and sway ...
... and sway ...
and oh! How?

Stand Clear!
We are the visitors,
For here is the Druid of them all,
She struts and hops in feathered shawl,
And takes a little breakfast
From Morgan's hand
And from where I stand,
I see a glint-
That little Starling winked!

Written for
Sionnach with love and squirrels, I love you.

And for Bobcat, with love and smiles and mices.
