Wood carved with care in loving memory:
Shaped from the body of a tree who's died;
Shaped for the loving of a man demised.
Thus taken from this double tragedy
Combining beauty with an elfin grace.
Such comfort do we find while seated there:
With backs towards the ancient clump of trees
And facing out towards the wide valleys
We sit and rest, no more beset by care,
Just glad to be within this sacred place.
This place of comfort, beauty, free from strife
Seized back from Death and placed again in Life. |
