Securing our Priorities : Tip for Living Lightly

 

Eat as many wholefoods as possible, trying to cut out processed food completely.

Eat natural, organic, fair-trade or home-grown food where possible.

Eat little or no meat and dairy products.

Try to eat food that is in season and buy your fresh produce from local suppliers.

Buy food in bulk – reducing packaging/waste and saving money.

Cut down on rubbish by avoiding food in unnecessary packaging, so saving energy and money; recycle your carrier bags or use bags that can be re-used again and again.

Recycle as much organic waste as possible: compost kitchen and garden waste.

Cut down on disposable hygenics.

Buy compassionately; use products which are not tested on animals and which come from renewable or sustainable sources.

Use energy sparingly, from renewable sources.

Live simply, without clutter.

Save water.

Invest ethically.

Walk, cycle or use public or shared transport whenever possible and practical.
