Four workshops starting Saturday 6 February 2010
SHAMAN'S WAY ~ Stalking the Owl Woman
Welsh Marches, West Midlands

TUTOR – Elen Sentier

These 1-day workshops in basic shamanic skills will be held at a venue to be confirmed in the Welsh Marches, close to Hereford.

The workshops will run from 10.30am to 9pm and cost £45 which includes lunch, supper, tea & coffee, and tuition.

The workshops are built around the story of Llew Llaw Gyffes and his journey from raw boy to king with the aid of the goddess Blodeuwedd, the Queen of the Night. Each workshop focuses on a particular part of the story, taking you through Llew’s Naming, Arming and Wedding, into his Death/Rebirth. You go with Llew, finding your own shamanic name, arms and wedding your soul-self. Then you go through the death of the old and into the rebirth of the new.
You listen to the story and discuss it; then journey the part of the story for that day. In the afternoon you make a mask on the first w/s, staff on the second, and a wedding-doll on the third. You work with these during the evening ritual. For the final w/s you again make a mask … this will be the new you who is reborn in the evening ritual.

The work is largely experiential but does include some Celtic Grammarye (lore). There is storytelling as well as the journeying and craftwork. As a group, you devise the ritual ceremony for the evening and perform it. There will also be plenty of time to share experience, ideas and thoughts. The ceremony will be at night at a local sacred site.

For those interested in going further down the shamanic path I also run RAINBOW WARRIORS, a 3-year intensive training in Celtic Shamanism. See website for more.

Dates - 6th Feb; 8th May; 31 July; 30th Oct 2010

Rates: £45 incl lunch, supper, tea, coffee & tuition OR £175 for all 4 w/s booked together.

Ceilede

Sat 13 Feb - Sun 14 Feb
BRIGANTIA - THE LIGHT-BEARER
Light of Hope Centre, Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire

Known as Brigantia in the North of England where, in ancient times, much of that area and its tribes were named after her, Brighid was a powerful pre-Christian Celtic Goddess. Her archetype continued to be honoured in Christian times, when many of her attributes were transferred onto the Celtic Saint of the same name. Also known as the "Mary of the Gael", her name comes from the Old Gaelic language and means “The Exalted One” or “The Fiery Arrow”. She is the Divine Initiator into the Inner Life and has her counterpart in traditions all over the world.

In the spirit of Brighid/Brigantia Herself, this two day gathering will seek beyond the doctrinal boundaries of both Pagan and Christian traditions and move deeply into the enduring folk soul of the Celtic people. We will explore this Everlasting One, who speaks powerfully to many of us today and is still transforming lives.

Towards the end of the workshop, which falls close to Her Feast-Day, we will ceremonially honour Brighid, in one of the traditional Celtic ceremonies.

ONGOING COMMUNITY: This workshop is one of a series of workshops in The North of England introducing the Céile Dé Tradition. There is an opportunity for ongoing group membership for those who would like to continue their spiritual journey within a dedicated group, based in the North of England and part of the wider Céile Dé community, that offers a powerful container for those who seek a path that invites commitment and openness to real inner change.

Group members will be able to meet together regularly to share practices and experiences and will receive teachings at scheduled times of the year.
