Placing the stones Tying the frame

Fear Hope Heat Love

by Susan Warren
after the Passion and Power Sweatlodge Weekend

FEAR
of survival;
(you are not able…)
of being alone;
(you will not last…)
of impotence;
(there is nothing, NOTHING you can do for him…)
Creates frustration, blockages, paralisation — constipation of spirit.

HOPE
for tomorrow;
(without the fear)
for life;
(even in death is new life)
for a new dawn;
(the barrier shattered, will I still be whole?)
Inspires courage, faith, taking the first step — speaking the unspoken.

HEAT (oh, the heat)
brings sweat and shallow breath;
(instinct dominates in the darkness)
brings the peeling away of dead layers;
(the white sow is near)
brings labour;
(tides push, I push, oh Goddess, please push!)
The stones of fear crack and shatter under fire and water as labour pains.
And I am reborn,
anew,
naked,
free,
glowing from the Mother’s womb.

LOVE
found in new and old friends;
(how you are cherished)
found in inspiration’s flow;
(sunlight, moonlight, wind talking trees)
found in my TRUTH…
Frees my soul to sing its song. I laugh with abandon as Awen flows
— for butterflies fill my cauldron.
