The SCS has four programmes that enable people to learn andexplore shamanism, Celtic history and wisdom, and themselves. It teaches CelticShamanism based on the Faery Faith (animism) of the Celtic peoples of WesternEurope. That is, the belief that everything in this and otherworlds is aliveand has its own soul or spirit. There is no doctrine or dogma, but there is acode of ethics (to see the SCS code of ethics visit http://faeryshaman.org/code.htm). It is a very individualistic path, a mysticalpath about becoming one with all that is and entering into union with thedivine.
The Oak Grove Ogham Masters' Program is designed to give youa deeper understanding of the Oghams and also give you the tools you need tocontinue your own research and study in years to come. This is not an easyprogram. While we do delve into some of the personal spiritual aspects of theOghams the program is more scholarly in nature than many offered on-line. Ifyou are looking for a program that goes beyond the Tree Calendar and pop-Paganmethods of Ogham Divination, this is the program for you. If your Ogham studiesto date have left you feeling there must be more, here it is.
The SCS Oak Grove Ogham Masters' Program is based onMedieval sources, archaelogical evidence, and surviving folklore. This is anin-depth study of what the Oghams really were, how our Celtic ancestors usedthem, and how we may use them in authentic ways to deepen our ancestralconnections. If you like to learn and grow, to stretch your mind and spirit, itis likely this program will suit you. The Oak Grove programme costs $135/yr(about £??) and you can join at any time. (This is one of the pre-requisiteprograms for those wishing to enter the Faery Shaman's ApprenticeshipProgramme.)
The Hazel Grove School of Bardic Wisdom is designed to giveyou a deeper understanding of the Myths and Legends of the Gaelic speakingpeople of Ireland and Scotland. Our Celtic ancestors saved these stories for usand handed them down from generation to generation. These myths and legends arean integral part of our ancestral heritage and they contain many of the hiddenkeys to our ancestral wisdom. Anyone who claims a desire to walk the path ofthe Celtic shaman needs to have these stories in their hearts. The Hazel Grove programmecosts $135/yr (about £??) and you can join at any time. (This is one of the pre-requisite programsfor those wishing to enter the Faery Shaman's Apprenticeship Programme.)
At the core of the SCS is the 26 month Faery Shaman'sApprenticeship Programme. The first year of the programme is designed to givethe tools needed to enter the Inworlds at will and return with full memory ofall that took place there. During the course of study you will meet your animaland ancestor guides, teachers and protectors. You will learn to travel in thevarious realms of Faerie and begin to work with the elementals, the Green Folk, and Nature Spirits. In the second year you explore the 8 festivals and theCircle of Life, while learning to work in closer harmony with the elementalenergies of each direction. Apprentices enter another private e-list where theymay discuss and share with the other apprentices. The apprenticeship costs$180/yr (about £??). You must successfully complete either the Oak Groveprogramme OR the Hazel Grove programme before seeking admission to theApprenticeship Programme.
Following the apprenticeship is the Twelve JourneysProgramme, which contains twelve journeys of initiation. You journey once amonth for twelve months. The journeys are individual to you, adventuresarranged by your own ancestors through the good offices of Tira's ancestorguide. Tira Brandon-Evans works with you, personally, each month on thesejourneys of initiation. This programme costs $180.
