Southern Echoes - An anthology of Druid writing from the Southern Hemisphere
Excerpt from back cover:
"Druidry calls us to be in the world, to be at home in and between the worlds." - Keith MacNider
Druidry is an ancient spiritual tradition in which the earth and her seasonal cycles are the central focus. Druid creativity and inspiration arise from the deep magic of the natural world. In the twenty-first century, Druids live in many corners of the globe, often in places dramatically different from the Western European lands of their ancient counterparts. A tropical, mediterranean or desert environment, where goanna, parrot and kangaroo take the place of salmon, eagle and stag, can seem incompatible with the established practices of Druid ritual.
Indigenous spirituality must also be recognised and respected. The challenge is how to reconcile ancient traditions with a new environment and find a pathway forwards.
Combining the visionary and the scientific, the reflective and the exuberant, Southern Echoes explores through prose and poetry what it means to be a practising Druid in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the first published anthology of writings by Druids from Australia and New Zealand.
This anthology is now available for purchase.
