I have a bookshelf full of herbals, but none like this. It's already
dog eared from avid dipping into!
If you want to read more than all the usual actives and chemical components
of a plant then buy this. It's accurate informative whatever path you
follow.
At £19.99 (price as of July 2003) it is pricey - but well worth
it. I pulled it off the bookstore shelf then put it back numerous times
before finally giving in. It's irresistible and exquisite.
It gives the botanical names, planetary ruler, correspondences, folk history,
folk magick, festivals, best time to harvest, elements and some wonderful
recipes.
It's easy to follow and read, very thoughtful and gives reminders of those
toxic plants.
For the practitioner or lay person this is a true treasure. Read it with
childlike enthusiasm and receive mature wisdom.
