An unusual, beautiful and incredibly useful calendar.
Comments
This calendar is a wonderful addition to the already highly competitive
pagan market place of journals, diaries and calendars. In this instance,
however, there is a unique (as far as I'm aware) and very useful feature.
It is based on the thirteen lunar months of the year, giving extensive
information for each of the months, with each month beginning at the new
crescent moon. Each month is assigned the moon name in English, Irish,
Scottish Gaelic, Welsh, Cornish, Breton and French. The moon names are
the Druid names used by Emma Restall Orr, alternative pagan names, heathen
or anglo-saxon months and the names from the Coligny Calendar of Gaul.
Each and every day is assigned a keyword based on astrological influences, and there is a mass of beautifully presented and, importantly, easy to follow detail on every page. It would have been very easy to produce a confusing mass of impractical data, with little or no chance of the calendar being used. This is most certainly not the case. And the illustrations by Catriona Stamp are both simple and stunning.
On its own this makes the perfect calendar for pagans and those interested in other faiths. With the accompanying Moonwise Diary you will have every piece of information you could possibly hope for.
Stunning, beautiful and highly recommended.
