Once Upon a Time a Man Had a Rhyme

Review by Vixen

Unlike Ken Shapley's Medicine Music collection - but still based firmly on the use of tribal didgeridoo rhythms, this is a collection of many different styles of play. The tracks vary widely in atmosphere and ambience, from the deeply relaxing, to the discordant and the strong energetic rhythms that inspire ecstatic dance and creativity. Some tracks I simply loved, others I found difficult. But that is the nature of such a collection. As the sleeve notes say: "From deep jungle to mountain heights, form camp fire to outer space [this is an] extraordinary blend of atmospheric tracks".
