The following dates for Gorseddau have been confirmed:

  • Sunday 3 February 2008, Imbolc
  • Sunday 23 March 2008, Spring Equinox
  • Sunday 4 May 2008, Beltane
  • Sunday 3 August 2008, Lughnasadh
  • Sunday 21 September 2008, Autumn Equinox
  • Sunday 2 November 2008, Samhain

The gatherings meet at noon by the National Trust Museum and Café just outside the western edge of the main circle in the village of Avebury. The rites are open to all, regardless of path. People are encouraged to dress in their ritual glory, but jeans and waterproofs are sometimes more appropriate to the day.

Each person is invited to bring offerings for the Guardian of the Stones, the ancestral spirit of the Avebury temple. Flowers, herbs, fruit of the season, crafts and things of beauty are all brought at these occasions. People are also asked to bring bread and mead, which is blessed and shared amongst all who have come, and contributions of songs, stories, poetry, music and other entertainment to the eisteddfod.

The rites are now generally facilitated by Morgan Rhys Adams. In 2005 the Gorsedd was declared autonomous by the Committee of The Druid Network and by Philip Shallcrass (Greywolf) for the British Druid Order thus reuniting these two roots of the Gorsedd in one body.
