Druid chairs diversity group

Leonore Newson, trustee at The Druid Network, has accepted the role of chairing the Faiths and Beliefs Network at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

The hospital trust has several inclusion and diversity networks in place to support the diversity of both staff and patients, including Disability and Wellbeing, BAME, LGBTQ+ and Faiths and Beliefs. Each group has a chair who holds the position for three years.

Leonore holds the F&BN chair, being the first pagan and the first Druid to do so. She stays: “What a wonderful way for the Trust to show commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion , not only Pagan , but Druid.

I know that there will be challenges, but the honour I feel in this appointment is immense and a real signal that things are changing and our Druid ways are being accepted as a religion.”
