How The Druid Network can Help You
Using money raised in the Environmental Projects Fund, The Druid Network is able to support small scale environmental projects that are in keeping with the ethics of honouring the land.
Each request we receive is considered by the trustees, and weighed against a number of conditions that we have developed to ensure we are working honourably on both sides, funder and funded.
Information we would need
- Information about the project that shows it’s feasibility and honourable intention.
- The information would need to be sufficient to create a report about the project which might be hosted on the public web site.
- If nobody at the project had time or expertise to write and / or create the web page, someone else would need to be secured in advance in order to ensure that this is done. This might be an external party or a TDN volunteer if available.
- TDN would require regular updates through the development process, possibly including invoices.
- The information would identify the land in question and include a map / directions to the site.
- There must be agreement about who would be responsible for liaison with TDN, ie who is the Project Manager.
- On completion, TDN would require information about the site, events and opportunities.
Practicalities
- TDN would need to be happy with any tree or plant species used in the project.
- Where possible, trees (and any other plants) would need to be of local provenance and sympathetic to the ecology of the area. TDN can provide relevant information if that would be helpful.
- TDN needs confirmation that all necessary permissions have been granted, ie. from landowners, for the project to go ahead.
Use and Access
- TDN would require confirmation and guarantees that Druids and other Pagans could use the site, openly or by arrangement, for the foreseeable future. This would include information about how the site could be used and what prior permissions would be required.
