Druid joins board of Interfaith Scotland

The Druid Network in another historic first.

December 4th, 2025.

Interfaith Scotland (IFS) has appointed its very first pagan Druid to their governing board, in the form of The Druid Network (TDN) trustee Neil Pitchford. Pitchford’s role was officially confirmed at the IFS AGM 2025 in Glasgow.

Speaking afterwards, Pitchford said, “I’m delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the very first pagan and Druid to serve on the Board for Interfaith Scotland. This marks a significant shift in the Scottish religious community, mirroring the results of the Scottish 2022 census which placed paganism as the fourth largest religious grouping in Scotland and I believe this appointment can be seen as an acknowledgement of that fact. I look forward to working with the other member faiths, groups and associations involved with Interfaith Scotland.”

Pitchford had previously served for five years in the senior role of Vice Moderator in the Interfaith Network UK, until that organisation closed in May 2024, after the UK government ceased its funding.
