The United Nations has declared September 26 to be the International Day for the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
In order to build civil society action and cooperation for the day, an open group of concerns, working in consultation with the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs, has established NuclearAbolitionDay.org.
Along with many organisations and individuals, The Druid Network has co-signed the Joint Appeal for September 26 , which will be presented on that day to the United Nations and sent to leaders, legislators and government officials around the world.
TDN has also added a statement to the appeal:
“Druidry guides us to live with truth and responsibility, based on reverence and respect for life itself, and the practice of seeking honourable relationship with all. The Druid Network thus urges those who would represent and lead the peoples of this fragile planet, to set aside all such weapons of mass destruction.”
