The Druid Network joined other pagan organisations this week in endorsing support for Safe Pagan Places. This initiative seeks to promote safeguarding best practice, specifically reducing risk of violence to women and girls.
The Safe Pagan Spaces Pledge:
Our organisation pledges to create and uphold safe Pagan spaces for all.
We commit to protecting women and girls from harm, challenging all forms of violence, attending to our safeguarding responsibilities and promoting a culture of respect, consent, and accountability within our community.
We will share safeguarding guidance, support those affected by abuse, and work in partnership with the Police Pagan Association to foster safety, wellbeing, and trust in every space we hold.
Police Pagan Association Launches National Safeguarding Partnership with Pagan and Heathen Organisations
The Police Pagan Association (PPA) has launched a new national safeguarding partnership with Pagan and Heathen organisations across the UK, supporting proactive community protection and contributing to national efforts to reduce violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The partnership brings together Pagan and Heathen organisations to strengthen safeguarding practice, share emerging community concerns, and increase confidence in responding to harm within religious and community spaces. It also supports wider policing priorities by improving understanding of Pagan and Heathen communities and encouraging early, appropriate intervention.
More information is available at the PPA Facebook page
and on their web site: https://policepaganassociation.org
Aligning with this initiative, TDN commits to ensuring the Networking spaces it maintains are safe for all its Members and other users, whatever their age, and however they identify themselves.
